After a “perfect” implementation, Fusionfx from Carefx gives Enloe clinicians rapid access to patient data from multiple information systems
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – March 25, 2009
- Clinicians at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, Calif.,
can now quickly and easily access patient data from four
separate hospital information systems thanks to Fusionfx.
This interoperability platform from Carefx aligns
relevant patient data across multiple applications to
provide clinicians with a complete view of a patient’s
health history.
Enloe is a 382-bed hospital serving more than 400,000
residents in a six-county region of Northern California.
It chose Fusionfx for its ability to synchronize data
from diverse systems – including laboratory, pharmacy,
medical records and radiology – into a complete,
multidisciplinary view of a patient’s record. As a
result, Enloe’s more than 1,600 employees and physicians
who use the system can deliver and coordinate patient
care more efficiently.
“Clinicians who were once bogged down by multiple user
IDs, passwords and redundant queries for information now
save precious time with the streamlined workflow
delivered through Fusionfx,” said Jim Hauenstein, Chief
Information Officer at Enloe. “Clinicians can now more
quickly and easily make informed patient care decisions
because Fusionfx gives them a concise, complete look at
relevant patient data, where and when they need it.”
In addition, Carefx implemented Fusionfx without any
workflow disruption, on budget and on schedule, even as
Enloe underwent two major computer system upgrades
during the implementation period.
“Never before have we had a technology project go live
without numerous help desk calls. The Carefx
implementation was perfect right out of the gate,” said
Hauenstein. “By implementing Fusionfx, Enloe decreased
clinician’s frustration of logging into multiple
applications and searching for patient data between
systems. Enloe has seen a significant increase in the
number of clinicians accessing the Enloe applications.
Fusionfx has allowed Enloe to integrate our existing
systems while keeping overall system cost down.”
Enloe searched for more than a year for a solution that
would utilize existing information infrastructure and
not disrupt existing hospital workflows. After
considering several options, Enloe chose Carefx for its
flexibility and ability to tailor a solution to meet the
unique needs of Enloe’s care providers.
“Carefx’s scalable and service-oriented workflow
platform will help Enloe clinicians more quickly and
easily access patient information by managing the
transition of information across their enterprise,” said
Randy Hamamoto, Vice President of Sales for Carefx.
“Helping Enloe enhance patient care was an important
goal for us at Carefx and one that we are proud to have
achieved.”
Carefx will explain its Fusionfx suite of solutions at
the Carefx HIMSS booth (#3637), April 4-8, 2009, in
Chicago.
