Richard L. Love, is a senior
executive with 26 years of hands-on business leadership
experience in the biosciences, coupled with 13 years of
management experience in the petrochemical industry.
Mr. Love has led the start up of two biopharmaceutical
businesses, Triton Biosciences Inc. and ILEX Oncology
Inc. and served as CEO for both companies for periods of
8 years each. At Triton and ILEX, Dick led teams that
were responsible for the clinical development of
multiple important therapeutic products, four of which
remain in use: Betaseron® for treatment of patients with
multiple sclerosis; Fludara® and CAMPATH®, both for
patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia; and Clolar™
for treatment of patients with acute lymphocytic
leukemia. Triton was sold to Schering AG for proceeds
in excess of $500 million (including earn-out) and ILEX
was sold to Genzyme Corp for $1.04 billion. Mr. Love
has also served in senior executive positions at three
non-profit research institutions, Cancer Therapy and
Research Center, The San Antonio Technology Accelerator
Initiative and the Translational Genomics Research
Institute (TGen). Mr. Love currently serves as a
director and founder of Systems Medicine, Inc.
(Scottsdale), as a director of Parexel International
(NASDAQ: PRXL) ImaRx Therapeutics (Tucson), Molecular
Profiling Institute (Phoenix) and Medical Consulting
Services (Scottsdale). Mr. Love received an M.S. and
B.S. in chemical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic
Institute in 1967 and 1965, respectively.
Eric S. Tooker, JD.,
currently serves as the President and Chief Operating
Officer of MCS Biotech, LLC, (“MCS”), which provides
business, legal, administrative and support services to
expert medical consultants. Prior to MCS, Eric founded
and served as President of Insights International, a
provider of products and services focused on
team-building, conflict resolution, hiring, and
retention to for-profit and not-for-profit corporations.
Mr. Tooker served as the Vice President and General
Counsel for Central Newspapers, Inc (CNI) (NYSE: ECP)
until the company was acquired by Gannett Co., Inc. in
August 2000. Mr. Tooker has extensive experience in
advising executive business teams throughout his 15
years as an in-house counsel. In that role with Conseco,
Inc. (NYSE: CNO) he served as legal counsel and business
adviser for a significant private equity portfolio and
he lead mergers and acquisitions and associated bank
financings. Mr. Tooker earned a B.S. in Education from
Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and a J.D. from the
University of Michigan Law School.
Daniel D. Von Hoff, M.D.,
F.A.C.P., currently serves as Executive Vice
President of TGen, Director of TGen’s Translational Drug
Development Division. He is also Clinical Professor of
Medicine, Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathology
at the University of Arizona and has served as director
of the Arizona Cancer Center. He holds two major grants
from the National Cancer Institute. He is also Chief
Scientific Officer of U.S. Oncology’s Research Network.
Dr. Von Hoff’s career is focused on the discovery and
development of new anticancer agents. He takes a unique
approach toward preparing drug development strategies by
envisioning the ultimate clinical trials required to
gain FDA approval no matter how early the drug is in
development. Dr. Von Hoff is past president of the
American Association for Cancer Research. Dr. Von Hoff
has been deeply involved in the development of numerous
agents, including mitoxantrone, fludarabine, paclitaxel,
docetaxel, gemcitabine, CPT-11, CAMPATH® chlofarabine,
Abraxane and others. He is on the board of Genta, Inc. (Nasdaq:
GNTA) and is a founder of Cylene. He also serves as a
consultant to many new start-up and established
biotechnology companies. Dr. Von Hoff has published
more than 527 papers, 129 book chapters and 891
abstracts.
